Medal Watch has been a bit MIA in recent months, I’m very sorry about that but we’re back now. Hopefully from now on we’ll be giving an update of the medals you get get soon as well as the latest blingy reveals from the UK, USA and whatever else around the world has caught out attention this week. We’ve got your medals needs covered for both actual and virtual races.
First, we need to celebrate Medal Monday. Congratulations to anyone who earned one (or more) of these last week.

Medals (and races) coming up soon
On the 28th January you could earn yourself the first of these four beauties at the Warrington RC 5 miler by Warrington Running Club. It’s part of the four race series (with the next three races in March, July and October) to create one large medal of the four season. You can also enter virtually if you can’t make it to Warrington.
The Ranscombe Challenge in Kent by Saxons, Normans and Vikings Marathons will also have seasonal based connecting medals this year. Winter on 21st January is sold out but the other three seasons are available. For more details visit http://www.saxon-shore.com/ranscombe_autumn/.
If you want a virtual with a difference then there’s still time to enter Run Resolution. A monthly event where you set you own goals for the month and get a medal if you achieve them. You can enter month by month and there’s a medal for each one. Go here to find out more.
Rock n Roll New Orleans makes it’s return on 4th February with some very blingy music inspired medals (seriously love the cassette tape). We also have the second Remix medal of the year in the new pretty acoustic design http://www.runrocknroll.com/new-orleans/
There’s still a little bit of time to get yourself on of these spinny charm type medals from POW Virtual Running. Both the Winter Run 10k and the Gotham Winter 10k need to be ran in January. More details
For those will a target of reaching 1000 miles or km by the end of the year, Virtual Runner are doing their virtual challenge once again (we hope to have a review of last year soon). You send in your evidence once you complete the full distance so it’s not too late to enter. Check it out here.
Potter fans, the 2nd February is the suggested day to run the Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody Constant Vigilance 5k (that’s quite a name) from the Hogwarts Running Club. The medal doesn’t seem to want to keep still and you can register to get on here.

Latest medal reveals
How about a virtual medal that lights up? May the Fourth has a flashing LED whilst the superhero inspired medal for the virtual race in June. Theses and also the ones below available from POW Virtual Running Ltd at http://www.powvirtualrunning.co.uk/races.htm.
These lovely medals featuring the Sefton Park Palm House can be earned at either a 10k, 5k or a 1k for the kids in May. More details about the Liverpool races can be found on the Mersey Races at http://www.merseyraces.co.uk/Liverpool_spring_10k.html
Also in Sefton Park is the #Love2Run 5k. A valentine’s themed medal social run on the 19th February with a virtual option between the 14th and 19th February by Contest Running Co.
Contest Running Co have also released the medal design for a virtual 5k to be ran between the 17th to the 26th March, inspired very much by the luck of the Irish. Loving the green and yellow. For more details click here.

The Rock n Roll Marathon Series has released their medals for Washington DC, Dallas, San Francisco and Raleigh. There are also a load of new challenge and Heavy Medal medals. So many in fact that you’ll be covering them in a separate post in the next few days so keep an eye out.
White Star Running need their own post, they have some many amazing medals in 2017.
runDisney have released the medals for both the Princess Half Marathon and Star Wars Darkside weekends. The Princess weekend has a Beauty and the Beast theme and the Star Wars medals are as fab as every, so much so that we’re going to give the runDisney race medals a separate post too.

You need to run 50k for this on but it’s almost worth it looking at the medal. The Silkin Way Ultra is on the 1st April with How Hard Can It Be events.
