The English Half Marathon and 10k were the first medals to be added to our events page (We can’t wait to get our hands on a half medal) but we’ve also added the Livewire Mile, x2 Challenge and Coporate Challenge medals to our events pages now.
A new event for the day before the races, Saturday 19th September, has also been announced and it sounds very interesting. It’s called the RunChallenge.
RunChallenge is a recreational running activity combined with a fun question and answer challenge. Aimed at individuals or groups of friends who are active and love getting outdoors, we provide a fun running challenge that trains your brain and body whilst exploring your local area.
You will be given a simple map with points marked that you have to try and visit in a 45 minute time slot and answer the questions or complete the challenges located there.
For each correct answer or completed challenge you will score 10 points and there are bonus points available for getting a full house, and how quick you get back– however there are time penalties for being late so it’s not all about being fast it’s about tactics and team work.
You will enter as an individual and then team up on race day into groups of up to 4 people per team – where at least one person must be over 16 years old. You will be given the map and answer sheet and then the clock will begin.
There will be a medal, yet to be revealed, but only for the first 200 entrants. Gold Runners (People who have entered English Half Marathon for live and get a gold bib and extra medal) could end up getting five medals in one weekend if they sign up for the RunChallenge too. We thinks it’s time for a possible medal count (Not including the corporate challenge medal because it’s kind of a separate entity).
- Half/10k medal
- Livewire Mile
- x2 Challenge
